WONDERFUL show!

There, now I've got that out...

I went to the Toad's show, got worked out of Providence and TTs and
Ticketmastered out of TTs on Sat. But I made it to Amherst! And I'm
REALLY glad I did!

The place was small and new, like a recital hall. The audience was
very "into" the performers and were all rather mature about
everything. It was even better for me, though, 'cause a friend from
Conn who I met at New Haven was first in line in Amherst and saved me
a front-row center seat! Best in the house! *grin*

Deni's band was almost full. There were three in New Haven, and four
in Amherst. There are supposed to be five, I hear. They were MUCH
better with a bass player, even good! The violin wasn't annoying
even!

Jull Sobule played a completely different set than New Haven, too, so
it was great. Just a few overlapping songs... And EVERYONE was in a
great mood!

Robyn was in a really great mood, though his voice was a bit shot. He
warmed up all night and was smiling and joking all over by the end.
He mentioned Mishy (no longer sick, I suppose) and sang I'm Not Me and
I Something You smiling and gazing at the back, so I guess someone
else special was there too!

He wore the lizard shirt again. He must have 20 of 'em...

Some great witty banter, but no real stories. He did mention the link
between salamis and CDs, though, so he really is repeating himself a
bit, but everything else was spontaneous and odd. Whee!

The sound was GREAT too. Maybe 'cause I was in the front row, but the
accoustic parts were just superb. Mixed perfectly even though I
couldn't hear the main speakers! The electric set was a bit guitary
since Robyn was playing Rock God and cranked his amp way up. He
really has fun with I'm Not Me, headbanging and laughing... He really
cracked up Only The Stones Remain and ended up jus tscrewing around
with the guitar and laughing. And Deni was really wonderful on
Beautiful Queen!!!

The best Robyn show I've been to, even though he didn't play Cynthia
Mask...

I recorded this one, too, so if anyone is interested I can dub it for
you. It came out fantastic!
