I just wanted to voice a few quick opinions...
Departure Lounge sounded great, if a little quiet. Would've bought their new
cd but it sold out 2 people ahead of me in line. Oh well...
Will somebody please tell Robyn that "America" sounds *much* cooler when he
plays the chorus chords in the order of the original recording? Starting on
Gm to Ab to Bb is, to me anyway, a lot more sinister and groovy than the
reverse, which is how I've always heard him play it live.
I can see how the Soft Boys would've been an eardrum burster of a band.
Somewhat unfortunately, we were on the side of the stage next to Kimberly's
amp, and boy was he overpowering. And truly Muppetesque, you're all
correct... also, I have to laugh at guitarists who grimace and shake
whenever they play *anything*, as if it's the most mind-bending riff in
history. Chill, baby, chill...
And finally, there was a little too much free-form-guitar-heroics-jamming for
my taste, especially with Robyn's tendency to wander about, time-wise... I
sometimes felt like what it might be like to see a Phish concert, which I
would never voluntarily do...
All in all, though, a fab show. See ya-
